The short version
Rungs has no accounts and doesn’t ask for your name or email. Your progress stays in your own browser. If ads are switched on, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technology to show them, and you can say no where you’re asked.
What stays on your device
The game saves your puzzle progress, results, streaks and settings in your browser’s local storage so they’re still there tomorrow. We never receive this data. Clearing your browser data erases it, and it doesn’t move between devices.
What our server sees
When you load the game or open a puzzle, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) receives your request, including your IP address and browser details. It uses these to deliver the site and keep it secure, and it keeps standard server logs. We don’t use that information to identify you.
Ads
Rungs may show ads from Google AdSense, only on the results card after you finish a puzzle and in the desktop sidebar. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers and similar technology to serve and measure ads, which can include ads based on your interests.
- If you’re in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you’ll be asked for your choice in a consent message before personalised advertising is used, and you can change your mind later from the same message.
- You can manage ad personalisation in Google’s ad settings or opt out through aboutads.info.
- Learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Children
Rungs is a general word game and isn’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
